Presentation closing residency @ Despina
Movement in Lines – perfroming “negrotivities” was an event that marked the closure of my residency at Despina Foundation in Rio de Janeiro. In this event, I (@tumpiflow) co-curated a proposal in collaboration with artist and writer Yhuri Cruz (@yhuric ruz) and performed with the following invited guest Brazilian artists: Almeida da Silvia (@almeidadasilva_), Azizi Cypriano (@azizicypriano), Mayara Velozo (@terronenhum) and Vicente Baltar (@vicentebaltar).
Two years later than planned, I participated in Despina’s program. During May 2022, I explored artistic and curatorial research that aims to contextualize experiences of my performance persona @tumpiflow, focusing on social urbanization and what is known (and recognized) as “favela”. I was especially interested in knowledge distribution and social activities as political forces.
