This document is built from 55 paintings of approximately 24 teens in prison, curated in 2018. Number 55 relates to an article in the criminal law of Suriname that refers to temporary custody. As Emmanuel Levinas’ (FR) philosophy denotes, the installation depicts layers of tension between individuality and community as magic (or knowledge) that questions ‘how does tension between unity and individuality develop a communal brain and its consequential collective consciousness?’
